Club History

Chartered in 1942, the Terryville Lions Club is a service organization located in Terryville, Connecticut.
The Club and its members are part of the world's largest and most active service organization;
The International Association of Lions Club.

Lions are people who volunteer their time to humanitarian causes in their local, regional, and world
communities. By conducting service projects and raising funds, Lions strive to help those in need,
wherever need exists. Every Lion is dedicated to community service and improvement.

The Terryville Lions Club is very active in the local community, as well as on the state and national levels.
Members of the Terryville Lions serve in key leadership positions within the statewide Lions organization.

-Service to the blind and visually impaired is one of the Lions' most significant activities. Lions also participate
in service activities emphasizing diabetes awareness, education and research; work with the physically and
mentally impaired; environmental issues; community welfare; international understanding and youth.

The work of Lions since 1917 has resulted in:

opportunities and vocational training.
